Majestic mountains and lush forests, national parks, swimming with seals, dolphin and whale watching, healing springs, world class wines and cuisine – will warm you up to this pristine country. To really get your juices flowing - heli-hike the glaciers, go white water rafting, zip lining, jet boating, kayak, sail and of course dodge the millions of sheep as you quad bike farmland. Then you can call yourself a ‘Kiwi’ – even if just visiting!
Creating activities and experiences that put a smile on your face is what I do, and kayaking is just one - sharing the magic of my homeland is another. In February of 2008, 7 Americans, 2 Aussies and a couple of Kiwi's traveled around the far north of New Zealand for 12 days. This region is renowned for it's beautiful beaches, native culture, history and active things to do. We arrived to a special and sacred Maori greeting, enjoyed several meals with them, healing practices and entertainment. Enjoyed a twilight tour of an Ancient Kauri forest (25,000 years old) dwarfed by these magnificent trees. The beaches were spectacular, as well as the sand dunes, and scenery. Swimming and quad biking on 90 mile beach were some of my favorites! Cape Reigna, our destination - where the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Seas meet, was surreal in misty cloud cover. Said to be the departing place of the spirits of recently deceased - we didn't see any! We sailed around the Bay of Islands, accompanied and entertained by dolphins. Paddling a Maori war canoe we learnt warrior calls and the accompanying scary faces - then took much pleasure in surprising onlookers! Some of us went scuba diving the Rainbow Warrior - counted as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world, by Jacques Cousteau. Then relaxed on the delightful island of Waiheke, tasting the wine, lazing on the beaches, wandering the tracks. On our last evening, we enjoyed a picnic on an ancient site of unusual rock formations reminiscent of Stone Henge and named Stony Batter. We had a full moon rising on one side as the sun set on the other. Our last days were spent in the Auckland region, shopping, visiting monuments, parks (chinese lantern festival).
"The trip to Northland NZ was truly a magical journey. I cannot wait until I can once again travel "down under" and enjoy everything this ancient land has to offer. Exciting excursions, panormic landscapes, great food and drinks and personalities of all kinds. For those who enjoy the sipiritual, NZ will not let you down. You are free to embrace and experience as much or as little as you want. Everything is about celebrating how uniquely individual we all are. It was my first trip but there will be many more to come." Larisa Chavenello - center, with some of the travelers in the February trip.

Coastal, Culture & Wine tasting! Starting in Auckland, we travel out to the Coromandel peninsula home to 'hot water beach', then over to Rotorua and Taupo - live volcanic region, hot water and mud, and ascend Mt Tongariro. Lots of crazy activities in this area for those looking for some thrills. Then over to the art deco epicenter of Napier, in the Hawkes Bay, driving over glorious mountain ranges down to an idyllic region of beaches, vineyards, and world class golf. The emphasis here is the wine tasting and if you're into golf - the course at Te Mata is a major highlight.
Note: to use frequent flier miles, airline tickets usually have to be booked 1 year in advance. Packages do not include airfare, although we are happy to arrange this, as well as add-ons and customizations to your itinerary.
